Exhibitor Spotlight: Underwater Contracting

Aquaculture UK is where the aquaculture community comes together – 250+ companies shaping the future of fish farming. This year, Underwater Contracting joins the line-up on stand F71.

For anyone meeting you for the first time, who are you and what problem are you helping the industry solve?

We are Underwater Contracting Ltd. Otherwise known as UCO for short. We are an ROV (Remotely Operated Vehicle) and Subsea tooling equipment service and maintenance provider. We provide tooling and equipment available to both Aquaculture and Energy sectors, to tackle subsea operations and allow Farms and sites to be able to handle more operational activities on the farm themselves allowing for quicker response times, more autonomy, greater flexibility, safety, and time and cost savings. We offer equipment for both sale and rental.

We also design and build in house our own ROV’s and tooling specifically for aquaculture and mortality removal, known as the “Foover”. The Foover is patented suction technology which allows farms to reach deep into dead socks and pens and remove 100% of mortalities, meaning pens stay clear and clean of morts. This done daily allows farms to maintain fish health within the pens, monitor mortalities and be reactive to changes in the fish health which allows companies to be more responsive in their treatments. It also means that seabeds and the environment in which they operate remain clearer, it’s better for the environment and the remaining fish if the pens and morts are removed as swiftly as they can.

Our ROV’s and additional tooling such as the NetFix net patching system is designed as a semi-permanent solution to fixing small holes in nets caused by predators, tears, catches, and is an immediate solution to stock containment prior to getting divers in to permanently repair the holes. The tools can then also be used for inspections such as net, mooring or centre line inspections, surveys, sampling (seabed and water), cutting centre lines and tangles, picking up items within the pen and on the seabed floor, using tools such as the Rope Cutter, Rope looper, Carabiner, Pressure cleaning hose etc. – really, we are like the Swiss army knife of the sea!

What's waiting for visitors when they stop by your stand?

We are very excited this year to be introducing some new products to the Aquaculture sector. I don’t want to give away too much ahead of the show, but we will be showcasing our latest technology, launching new products, have fun demo’s where people can get hands on experience with our technology and more. We are hoping to meet as many people as possible and introduce UCO to both new customers and re-connect with our current clients and showing them our latest developments. You’ll have to drop by the stand to find out the exact items we are launching but it’s sure to include our Foover and Tooling range!

What's got your team counting down to Aquaculture 2026?

We are looking forward to having our first stand-alone stand and welcoming visitors to see us and to the first year being in Glasgow for Aquaculture UK. We are excited to showcase some of our new products, for some of the networking events, and plans that this year’s show has for exhibitors and its visitors. It’s sounding like it will be such a wonderful event and we can’t wait!
